PATTERNED STOCKINGS!

Basic Piece: Tights, Forever 21

Extenders: Red Belt,

                Studded Belt, Divisoria

                Lace Top, Thrift Shop

                Shoes, SO! FAB

The red belt and the studded belt give a lively accent to the

monotomy of black in the whole outfit. The laced top adds to the

femininity of the look and the floral details on the tights make it

more sexy and interesting. The chain details on the shoes match the

studded belt. The tights help a lot to the comfort, not revealing

too much skin in effect making it easier to move around.

PINK!

Colors I used:

Fuchsia, Pink, Pearl White

DOLL CRAZE!

This was our project for our “Development of Western Costume” Class

The Rococo period was our inspiration for these dolls.

Here’s My Doll (my first time to make a dress for a doll) :

Nina’s Doll

BESTFRIENDS:

Just go with the flow!

Basic Piece: Dress, Thrift Shop

Extenders: Polo, C&D

               Belt, Divisoria

               Shoes, Mondi

Go for a fresh look by wearing a simple flowy dress, top it off with a chiffon polo unbuttoned. Too much flow with the pieces could make you look fat so a vintage belt would be the solution to keep that waist. Brown gladiator wedges are a perfect match to the vintage belt.

LET’S GO TO THE BEACH! Make Up for the Summer!

Colors I used:

Fuchsia, baby blue, white, and orange. SUMMER FEVER!

Vintage to match the wooden hut in the tropics! <3

Taken at Club Morocco.

The wooden huts made a perfect match to the outfit I was wearing.

When I think of vintage, I associate it to antique. The wooden huts were unfinished and the color was faded. It matched the dress I was wearing: dull-colored patterns that were similar to the fashion in the 20’s.

wore slippers since I was at the beach :)

Polka Dots! Featuring one of my closest friends who I call my sister!

This was at Club Morocco. We had a barkada outing and took some fun shots.

I just couldn’t help but blog Mav’s outfit.

What I love about it:

She experimented with the colors. Matching a red orange tank top with a black pencil skirt with white polka dots is just so creative!

Told her to tuck in her tank top to make it look more retro!

Here’s Mav:

GLOBAL VILLAGE FASHION SHOW 2012!

We, the Association of Clothing Technology Students, were invited to have a fashion show for AIESEC’s event. My bloc, the freshman bloc not to mention, was in charge of the fashion show. Our bloc’s designs took inspiration from the Historical costumes in the West, this was our final requirement for our CT 15 (Development of Western Costume) as well.

This final requirement took a lot of hardwork. In a span of 2 weeks we experienced a lot of pressure and stress to come up with our designs. We had to study, write papers, and meet other requirements for our other subjects and trust me, this was not easy for us. I think all of us had sleepless nights, staying up to finish whatever we have to finish. Tired because we had to look for fabric and necessary accessories all over Manila, going to Divisoria, Quiapo, and wherever.  But by the end of 2 weeks, we were able to meet our requirement. THANK GOD!

This was our second fashion show as a bloc and our professors were very proud of us. The organization that invited us was very pleased with our fashion show as well. We got a lot of compliments from them too.

I can’t wait for our next fashion show! :D

CLOTHING TECHNOLOGY:  PYRAMID

Our first lesson for our CT 15 class (HISTORY OF WESTERN COSTUME) was the EGYPTIAN COSTUME. Ma’m Ish required us to do a contemporary or replica of the Egyptian Costumes /Accessories Presented to us. Here’s what my competitive block came up with!

I made a contemporary version of the Egyptian Corselet!

It even had Egyptian Decorations! Heeehee

OUTFIT POST: Stripe Top, SECRET PARIS | Bondage skirt, SECRET PARIS | Brown Leather Sandals, GIFTED

I have to say,  My block did a great job with these Egyptian accessories!

Pleats Please! (UP Lantern Parade 2011)

rjsantos:

UP Diliman Lanter Parade 2011

Tada! After roughly two weeks, we managed to make three dresses for the parade… Plus, we were also able to make wings that actually light up.. Whaddup.. That’s special thanks to Ivy and her uncles!

My block decided to make this one extra special since this will be the last time we’re going to participate in the event. We were all very happy with the outcome.

Our VS angels :-P

Mia, our resident Beyonce/Shakira

Denise Chan of the freshie block

It’s me! Haha my friend Jamie took the photo.

And now with the angels haha borrowed my prof’s costume…. Thanks to Jamie for the photo!

Can you guess our inspiration for the wings?

Miss Kitty and Miss Alice

Claire

After the parade, we knew we needed to make it sulit… or in Kris Aquino’s words, get more from what we paid for. So, we had a ‘shoot’ on our way back to the college. It was very much like the shoot we had last year after the parade, only this time, we had 5 angels.

It was already like fantasy… only the cellphone brought you back to reality.

Them lost angels.

That’s it! Next time, we’ll be watching the other batches rule the acad oval.

By the way, our college won best lantern for the first time (I think)! Whadupp!! Congrats College of Home Economics! Woot!

MIDTERM BONANZA. WARNING: Clothing Technology is not a joke. by Paloma LB. Picart

croquismonster:

Blog entry for Aug 29- Sept. 4, 2011

Last week was the most stressful week I experienced in my college life. Considering that I had an exam in Chemistry 16 on the day my take home exams for art studies was due and I had to submit my croquis book the day after. I was doing three things at a time, sleeping at four in the morning from Friday to Tuesday last week. Phew! I thank God for helping me survive and Blessing me with people who made me strong throughout those brain-bleeding days.

I would have to agree with Kim’s latest blog, some people might think that the croquis book is just some scrap book with random fashion cutouts or pictures but NO. We look for specific elements relevant to our research about fashion. Clothing Technology trains us not only to be well-rounded fashion designers but also entrepreneurs. This course not only aims to teach us how to design but also to be “all-around” business people. Taking subjects from Chemistry, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, and Accounting: we explore the deeper side of fashion and the industry.

Anyway here’s an editorial I made for Basil Soda’s Winter 2010 Collection (this was part 3 of our midterm requirement):

Basil Soda serenades us with the music created from the waves of the beautiful deep-blue ocean as he presents his Winter 2010 collection in Paris, France. He features evening gowns in gold embellishments and colors that signify the sand, seashells, and the water. The ocean, as shown in his collection, was his inspiration. From eloquent shades of light blue to dark blue, black, and shades of beige: he based the colors from the ocean’s image at day and night. His dresses are beautifully feminine pieces with the use of metallic and flowing fabrics to achieve the ocean feel. To complete the look, natural make up and wavy hair were done on the models. Used were provocative necklines to match the feminine feel. SOPHISTICATION, TRANQUILITY, and FEMININITY are the elements in this collection.

Basil Soda was successful in delivering the message to the audience with his collection. From the colors, the accents, to the silhouette, everything was just in harmony. The way he put different pieces together in each dress (the flowing skirts, gold embellishments, metallic fabrics) gave out that message that he was indeed portraying the ocean.

Our midterm requirement helped me explore various collections from different designers. Reading editorials and reviews of the collections, I learned to write a fashion editorial. Aside from that, I was able to put elements together in looking for what was asked (e.g. shape, color, texture, pattern,  physiological  effects, psychological effects). This was a very challenging requirement but I know this will help me in the future, being a good critique and being well-aware of my forte.
